Kidder Youth Theatre Collective
Theatre Makers Summer Camp
From Blank Page to Centre Stage. Create, Rehearse, Perform.
Let’s make something!
Join Fiona & Kat this summer for a week of collaborative theatre-making and performance.
At Kidder, we believe everyone can make theatre. From the first spark of an idea to the final curtain call, our young makers will work together to build an original show from scratch. Through creative play, they will explore narrative, character, and their own imaginations, collaborating to turn unique concepts into a short piece of theatre while building their skills as performers.
Professional Craft, Playful Spirit
Our workshops are led by industry professionals (us!) who are active in the business. This means your child will explore the craft using the same techniques found in professional rehearsal rooms, but delivered through creative group activities and games designed to expand the imagination and build confidence.
We don’t just run acting classes; we champion the bright, playful curiosity of young makers and give them the tools to bring their own ideas to life. We believe in ensuring the next generation of storytellers has the space to play, create, and be heard. There is a role for everyone in our rehearsal room; whether your child loves the spotlight or prefers to shape the show from behind the scenes, we focus on empowering every child and building confidence in a way that feels natural, fun, and inclusive.
The Week at a Glance
Collaborative Devising: We start with a blank page and find our story together.
Creative Exploration: Games and group activities that build character and performance skills.
Building the Show: Every maker finds their place in the group, contributing their unique ideas to the final piece.
The Sharing: We wrap up the week by inviting families in for a pop-up performance of what we’ve built together - a chance to see their creativity in action!

Frequently Asked Questions:

Ideally, yes. Because we are building an original show from scratch as a collective, every participant becomes a vital part of the "company." Much like a professional rehearsal room, the process relies on the whole group being there to collaborate and make decisions together.
If you have a specific scheduling conflict, please get in touch before booking so we can see if we can make it work for the group.
-
Yes, we offer 15% off for every additional sibling.
-
Yes! We focus on empowering every voice and building confidence in a safe space. We don’t believe in forced participation. There are plenty of vital roles across all areas of theatre-making for those who don’t wish to perform on stage.
